WALLA WALLA — Applications are now being taken to fill a vacancy on the Walla Walla County Planning Commission.
To provide balanced representation, residents from Commissioner District 3 are being sought. The district generally covers the western side of the county. Information on district boundaries is available on the county website.
Applications need to be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 8. Interviews of potential appointees may be conducted by county commissioners.
The Planning Commission is a seven-member body which typically meets on the first Wednesday of each month, although other special meetings can be scheduled. Planning commissioners conduct public hearings and make recommendations to the county commissioners on a variety of land use policy issues and development codes. Members usually serve four-year terms.
