Dayton takes down Indians, 4-2

TOUCHET — Samantha Harting’s seventh-inning RBI triple and McKayla Bickelhaupt’s bloop single that followed it lifted Dayton High School’s softball team to a 4-2 victory over Touchet Tuesday.

“We obviously didn’t do a great job of putting base hits together,” Touchet coach Gary Dorman said, “but our girls hit the ball pretty well when they hit it. It was just right at someone.”

Harting threw a complete game for the Bulldogs, giving up two hits.

Makayla Bishop started in the circle for Touchet and gave up a run before Harlie Schaefer came on in the fifth inning.

“Their pitcher Harting did well, but our pitchers, Makayla Bishop and Harlie Schaefer, did outstanding as well,” Dorman said.

The Indians host DeSales Thursday for a single game at 4 p.m.

Dayton hosts Asotin for a league twin bill Saturday at 1 p.m.
