TOUCHET — Cori Ochoa threw a two-hit complete game Tuesday and Touchet High School improved to 2-0 on the year with a 4-1 victory over visiting Dayton in a Southeast 1B-2B interleague baseball game.

“It was a good baseball game,” first-year Touchet coach Tim McKeown said. “It wasn’t a blowout by no means — it was pretty much a pitchers’ duel until the sixth when (Dayton starter Lowden) Smith started to get a little tired.”

Coltor McKeown scored in the second on a series of errors. As the right fielder overran his ball and when the ball was bobbled at second, McKeown rounded for home.

The Indians added runs in the fifth and sixth innings while Dayton managed a run in the fifth.

“(Ochoa) had really good backing behind him,” McKeown said. “A couple times he just kind of lost focus, but then he got it right back and he had help behind him. He stuck with his gameplan and mentally he was there.

The Indians visit Umatilla Thursday and host Colton for a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m. to open league play.

Dayton travels to Asotin for a league game Saturday at 1 p.m.
