The Sustainable Living Center’s Builders ReSupply Store will host what’s billed as a grand re-opening celebration Saturday.
From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the operation at the Walla Walla Regional Airport complex, 551 Lockheed St., will offer free food and drinks, a raffle, crafts for children and an art show featuring re-used products, according to an announcement from the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Though called re-opening, the event is more a celebration of all the items that have been donated and resold rather than dumped in the landfill. The retail branch operated through the Sustainable Living Center takes in everything from construction materials to household goods, then offers them at discounted prices for resale as an alternative to landfill disposal.
Items include appliances, cabinets, doors, drywall, lights, mirrors, windows, blinds, lumber, sinks, roofing material, piping, tile, tools, toilets and more. The store will be open for regular business throughout the celebration, too. For more details about the operation, visit sustainablelivingcenter.com.
