College Place - Lydia J. Weis, 97, died March 8,

2013, at Walla Walla General Hospital.

Lydia was born July 4, 1915, in Leader, Saskatchewan,

Canada to Jacob and Selma (Newbauer) Albrecht.

She worked for many years as a nurse’s aid in various

nursing homes and in private care in Walla Walla

and College Place. She was a member of the College

Place Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She leaves to mourn, two daughters, Darlyn Mc-

Ginnis of Troy, Idaho, Yvonne McKendree of Fresno,

California; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren;

several nieces and nephews and her many

friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben

Weis, her oldest daughter, Audrey Teranski and her

brothers and sisters.

The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday,

March 29, 2013, at Mount Hope Cemetery in College

Place. Lydia’s son-in-law Pastor Edward Teranski will

officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to a

charity of choice through Mountain View-Colonial
