WALLA WALLA — A proposed 870-acre annexation along the city’s southern boundary will be the subject of an open house this week.
City officials propose annexing a section of the urban growth area that stretches roughly between Reser and Langdon roads and between Kendall Road and Third Avenue.
Officials report they already have annexation agreements for properties that represent more than 60 percent of the total valuation for all 870 acres, which means the City Council can approve or deny the annexation without a public vote.
The open house is schedule for Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Walla Walla High School Commons, 800 Abbot Road.
A required public hearing will take place at the April 10 City Council meeting, which will also be at the Wa-Hi commons at 7 p.m.
