WESTON — A lawsuit between the city of Weston and Denise Sampson was settled in January.
Sampson sued the city for wrongful termination after the City Council voted unanimously to terminate her as city recorder in January 2012. No reason was given for the termination.
The details of the settlement are confidential, but Sampson’s attorney David Rose said he was happy with the agreement.
“We are pleased that we resolved the matter with the city of Weston. I believe the settlement was in the interest of Denise Sampson,” he said.
Sampson said she is moving on with her life and looking for work in Walla Walla, where she now lives.
“I’m glad my termination with the city has been finalized,” she said.
Weston Mayor Duane Thul declined to comment on the settlement.
