BURBANK — DeSales High School had three pitchers combine for a no-hitter shutout over Columbia (Burbank) and the Irish bats were good enough for 10 runs on 12 hits in a 10-0, mercy-rule baseball victory.
DeSales scored four runs in the top of the first to set the tone.
Adam Eskil got the start for the Irish but struggled with his control before being replaced by Logan Hoeft in the first. Hoeft cruised until the fifth when he was replaced by Cameron Richman. Neither pitcher allowed a baserunner.
The Irish scored four more runs in the top of the fourth and reached the 10-run barrier with runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
“We had a pretty good outing on the offensive side of things,” DeSales coach Kim Cox said.
The Irish won’t see the field again until April 9th when they host La Salle for a single game at 4 p.m.
