RICHLAND — Walla Walla High School’s boys tennis team edged Hanford, 4-3, here Tuesday.
Blue Devil singles players Connor Christensen and Micah Rambo picked up victories, as did the doubles teams of Douglas Rowley and Parker Toon and Cole Woelfle and Malcolm Gabbard.
“I was very proud of the way our team stuck together and supported each other in the match today,” Wa-Hi coach Bryan Eggart said. “It would have been very easy, being down 0-3 after the first three matches, to just roll over and give up, but we didn’t. We fought back to tie the match at 3-3 with some great play from our No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams and at No. 3 singles.
“The team match came down to No. 4 singles and our sophomore, Micah Rambo, pulled out a huge three-set win, for not only himself, but also for our team.”
Wa-Hi, now 2-1, next heads to Southridge on April 11.
