COLLEGE PLACE — A College Place resident was arrested Wednesday after allegedly pointing a shotgun at another man.
The incident happened about 7:36 p.m. in the 1900 block of Clover Court. An eyewitness, Josh Gesler, said his brother, who was visiting from Spokane, had gone out of the house to retrieve his phone from a car and was confronted by the man, who was behind another vehicle and pointing a shotgun at him.
Gesler said College Place Police responded to a 911 call shortly afterwards and an officer, who was armed with a rifle, arrested the man after persuading him to put down the shotgun. Gesler said the suspect is apparently a next-door neighbor.
Gesler said he did not know why the man was threatening his brother with the weapon. He said no one was injured during the incident.
According to arrest records, the suspect, Gary Roden, 66, 1926 S.E. Clover Court, was booked into the County Jail on a charge of aiming or discharging a firearm within city limits. Roden was later released on bail.
A report on incident was not available this morning.
