Giant purple octopus controversy

In the dawn hours, a painting crew from out of town works to quickly cover the Inland Octopus toy store mural on Main Street in Walla Walla. After years of battling in the courts, the Inland Octopus toy store mural was painted over by the City of Walla Walla at dawn and the equipment removed before 7:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013.

Wow, look how ugly it is now; is that what Walla Walla stands for? Ugly?

Did they file for a permit to do this? I need to see the paperwork!

I agree with the ugly comment. I wonder if they filed the proper permit paperwork to do this? I also find the bright yellow entryway down the street particularly offensive. (Tongue in cheek) How is that allowed under the proper decorum rules?

Good deal! Got rid of that awful eyesore! Now make the store owner pay for the paint and the fines that have been levied.

Thought it should have been removed, cut into 1 foot sections, and auctioned off to pay for the fines. With all the publicity, may have raised enough additional funds to donate to the needy.
