MILTON-FREEWATER — The McLouglin High School softball team finished 3-1 overall as the host of their own tournament which concluded Friday.
The Pioneers took a 3-2 victory over Stayton and handed Scappoose a 9-1 loss here Friday.
Mac-Hi finished spring break with a 9-2 record — including seven road games.
Against Stayton Mac-Hi trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the sixth.
Megan Reed led off with a double and her pinch runner, Adrienne Streeter, was sacrificed to third by Meghan Kimball.
Makayla Kelly hit a sinlge to score Street. Stayton led 2-1 going into the bottom of the seventh.
Karli Cortez led off with walk and Colette Robert doubled to push Cortez to third.
Reed doubled them both into score for the walk-off win.
Against Scappoose Mac-Hi had an easier 9-1 victory.
Reed and Kimball each contributed three hits in the win.
Robert pitched the complete game against Stayton and started the second game.
Brooke Kralman relieved her in the fifth.
“We had a lot of girls step up, make plays and learn about being ready for league,” Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said.
