COLLEGE PLACE — Sharon Kay Stoll will present the Walla Walla University Distinguished Scholar Lecture “Gaining an Advantage: Moral or Immoral Activity in the Competitive Arena” at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Melvin K. West Fine Arts Center Auditorium, 204 S. College Ave. College Place.
Stoll earned her doctorate in sport philosophy from Kent State University and has published eight books concerning ethics and morality. In 2007 she was named one of 100 Most Influential Sport Educators in America among names such as Andre Agassi, Tiger Woods, and Bob Costas. She was featured as a Sports Ethics educator in Sports Illustrated, and has been featured on programs such as Night Line and ESPN Sports Center.
Currently Stoll works at the University of Idaho where she is a professor of physical education. She also created and directs the Center for Ethics, which . works with several professional and university sports teams around the nation.
The event is free and open to the public.
