Basel Cellars Estate Winery is not only launching a new series during Spring Release Weekend. It’s throwing a party for it Saturday.
The winery, 2901 Old Milton Highway, will celebrate the newest wine in the family on Saturday, 5-8 p.m.
The series dubbed “2901” includes a sauvignon blanc/semillon blend, a syrah rosé and a Bordeaux-inspired red blend from winemaker Ned Morris. The wines will be sold exclusively in the tasting room. The new label design was created by award-winning designer Sara Nelson.
Though the winery welcomes visitors throughout the weekend, Saturday’s event is a highlight. Chef Andrae Bopp of Andrae’s Kitchen will prepare hearty appetizers to be paired with the selection of wines. A live musical performance from B-Side will take place on the lawn, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
One other addition this weekend is the debut of Basel Cellars’ new cold-food cooler in the tasting room. Andrae’s Kitchen will stock the cooler with picnic fare throughout the summer. Sandwiches, wraps, fruit, salads and cheeses will be available for wine-tasting snacks.
Saturday’s party is free to wine club members, and $25 per person to nonmembers. Attendees will get a Go-Vino souvenir wine glass, appetizers and a complimentary glass of wine.
