Hinchcliffe overtakes Sato to win Sao Paulo 300

SAO PAULO — James Hinchcliffe overtook Takuma Sato of Japan on the last turn to win IndyCar’s Sao Paulo 300 for his second career victory Sunday.

The Canadian moved from third to second with three laps to go and moved inside Sato to take the lead just a few yards from the finish line at the Anhembi street track. Sato, coming off his first career victory two weeks ago in Long Beach, drove too hard into the hairpin at the end of the long back straight and gave space for Hinchcliffe to get past. Marco Andretti was third.
