WALLA WALLA — After its best season in decades, the Whitman College baseball team placed two players on the All-Northwest Conference second team, and had three others named honorable mention, as voted by the conference coaches.
The list includes second baseman Cam Young and designated hitter and relief pitcher Aaron Cohen on the second team, and pitchers Spencer Hobson and Justin Weeks, along with outfielder Kyle Moyes, as honorable mention.
Young had the conference’s fifth highest batting average (.396), was third in on-base percentage (.486), fifth in slugging percentage (.604) and he stole 10 bases.
Cohen was the designated hitter and also played a few games behind the plate and filled the role of closer out of the bullpen. At the dish, he batted .344 (17th highest in conference), drove in 25 runs (18th) and had a slugging percentage of .464 (20th).
