PRINEVILLE, Ore. — McLoughlin High School’s golf season came to end at the Greater Oregon League District championship at Meadow Lakes here Tuesday.
Top score for the Pioneers was Andrew Kain, who just missed the fifth and final berth to state, shooting a 173 to tie for sixth place.
La Grande’s Daniel Seymour won a two-hole, sudden-death playoff over Baker’s Brandon Ellwanger for medalist honors. Both shot a 164 before the playoff.
Ridgeview’s Jimi Seely was third at 167, La Grande’s Jake Girard fourth at 168, and Baker’s Charlie Clark nabbed the final state spot in fifth at 172.
Other finishers for Mac-Hi include Chris Propeck, Jeremy Ley and Tyler Williams, who all tied for 19th at 197, and Dalton Wesner, who tied for 23rd at 199.
Baker won the team score at 704, followed by La Grande at 708. Both qualified for the state tournament at Emerald Valley in Creswell, Ore., Monday and Tuesday.
Ridgeview was third at 725, Crook County next at 749, Mac-Hi was fifth at 754, and Ontario sixth at 829.
