T-O-R outhits Waitsburg-Prescott, wins 7-4


PRESCOTT — Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia outhit Waitsburg-Prescott 10-7 and walked away with a victory by the same margin, 7-4, Tuesday in a loser-out District 9 2B baseball playoffs contest.

With the loss, W-P ends the season at 12-8 overall and loses five seniors to graduation: SS/P Dalton Estes, 3B/OF Riley Stevens, C Tucker Alleman, OF Roy Ebong and OF/P Nolen Allen.

“We finished 12-8 and players improved all season,” W-P coach Dustin Snedigar said. “We have a good group returning next season and several playing through the summer.”

TOR broke a 1-all tie in the third inning with three runs. W-P pulled to within one run, 4-3, after scoring runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but TOR secured the game with three more runs in the seventh.

TOR advances in the district tournament and will now face Tri-Cities Prep Saturday at 11 a.m. in another loser-out contest.
