MILTON-FREEWATER — Mac-Hi give up a lone hit and no runs in a Greater Oregon League softball sweep of Ontario here Wednesday, 10-0 and 7-0.

A 10-run fourth inning ended the game in the fifth inning of the opener behind Colette Robert’s no-hitter in the circle. She had 10 strikeouts, and was one error away from the a perfect game.

“Colette and Cheyenne Kessler (Mac-Hi’s catcher) worked well together,” Pioneers coach Nicole Christian said.

In the nightcap, Robert gave up a hit, but again the Pioneers shut out the visitors and put up two first-inning runs, two the second and two in the fifth for the win.

Robert picked up another nine strikeouts in the one-hitter.

The Pioneers won their 12th GOL game, and set a school record with an undefeated conference record. Their overall record is 21-5, and Mac-Hi added a game against Wa-Hi, at either Walla Walla Community College or Murr Field, at 5 p.m. today.

The Pioneers host a state first-round game on May 22. They find out who will come to town next Thursday.
