The Love Dogs to headline Walla Walla Blues Society's 20th anniversary

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Blues Society, a small organization that has been a key driver in the Valley’s music scene, will celebrate its 20 anniversary with a Birthday Bash starting 6 p.m. on May 17 at the Elks Club, 351 E. Rose St.

Headlining the event will be The Love Dogs from Boston, a band that last appeared in Walla Walla in 2006. The band has written a commemorative song, “Hey Hey Walla Walla,” that they will perform.

The show will also feature local favorites Gary Winston, Phil Lynch, Robin Barrett and a reunion of Iguana Hat.

Food and drink will be available. There will also be some raffles.

All proceeds benefit the Walla Walla Blues Society’s “Instruments For Kids” program. Admission is free if you bring a musical instrument to donate to the program.

Tickets are $12 or $10 with a WWBS membership card. WWBS membership will also be available at the door. For more information about the bash or the Instruments for Kids program, call Mike Hammond at 509-525-8600.
