SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Superintendent Susan Bell reported the district can offer three classes next year for college credit, in math, science and Spanish, though partnerships with Central and Eastern Washington Universities. In addition, students can use the new skills center in Walla Walla to take classes on welding, graphic media, health care and renewable energy.
BUDGET: The district has drafted a budget for 2013-14 and will have a budget hearing at 6 p.m. before the regular board meeting on June 23.
ACTION: The board approved a revised policy on graduation requirements, teacher certification implementation plan, allowing the girls’ softball team to play on Sunday for the state tournament and 2013 ASB fundraisers. They authorized Bell to pursue contractor services for the Touchet Secondary Renovation Project, and tabled allowing her to authorize change order documents.
