Man charged in local death threats case

WALLA WALLA — A man was formally charged Thursday with threatening to kill local officials this week.

Francisco C. Delarosa, 53, of 1029 W. Willow St., is accused in Walla Walla County Superior Court of six counts of felony harassment.

Officials said Delarosa has frequently called a police officer for about the past year, but most of the calls were benign and ignored.

On Tuesday morning, however, Delarosa allegedly left a message threatening to shoot Superior Court Judge John Lohrmann, Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle, a Walla Walla police officer and a relative of his.

“(Delarosa) ends the threat by saying, ‘Don’t come arrest me or I will shoot you!,’” according to a police report filed in court.

He also was charged Thursday with threatening to kill the officer he has been calling, in addition to retired Superior Court Judge Donald W. Schacht.

Delarosa was arrested at his residence Tuesday afternoon and booked into the County Jail.

He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
