College Cellars, the winemaking arm of Walla Walla Community College, took home a slew of prizes in this year’s Seattle Wine Awards.
Wines made by students won 10 awards, including six double-golds, that ran the gamut from ice dessert and fortified dessert wines to the familiar merlot and syrah.
The Walla Walla Valley was well represented at the awards, netting dozens of prizes.
The Seattle Wine Awards, founded in 2006, put scores of wines to the test by a panel of wine professionals that includes wine directors, writers, buyers and sommeliers.
