Warriors shut out Wenatchee Valley 8-0

WENATCHEE — The Walla Walla women’s soccer team clinched the top spot in the NWAACC East Region with an 8-0 shutout against Wenatchee Valley Saturday.

Olivia Rodgers and Delaney Romero each recorded a hat trick, as the Warriors improved to 14-1-1 in league play and 18-1-1 overall.

Rodgers opened the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute. Romero followed her with a score of her own in the 17th minute.

Rodgers closed the half on a tear with goals in the 31st and 39th minutes to give WWCC a 4-0 halftime lead.

Romero opened the second half with two scores, as she took a Lexi Miller pass and scored in the 62nd minute. Her final score came in the 71st minute.

Chloie Dale and Oryian Matheny rounded out the scoring for the Warriors, scoring in the 76th and 88th minutes, respectively.

Now the Warriors will for a second round playoff match-up Friday. Walla Walla will face the winner of Lane and Everett.
