PASCO — Dayton was eliminated from the District 7/9 regional volleyball tournament in two matches Saturday at Chiawana High School.
The Bulldogs lost to Davenport in three sets, 25-9, 25-23 and 25-16, in the opening round. Tri-Cities Prep sent the Bulldogs home with another three-set loss, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-20, in the elimination bracket.
“You get to regionals and you just have to play real consistently and strong offensively and defensively,” Dayton coach Shannon Turner said, “and we just made too many errors and didn’t plays as consistently as the other teams.”
The teams’s lone senior, Courtney Mings led the Bulldogs on the day with 10 kills and 15 digs.
“She did a good job for the tournament,” Turner said of Mings. “For her last hurrah she did pretty good.”
Against Davenport Mings had six kills and 10 digs. Jenna Phillips went 12-for-12 in service with five digs. Lexi Ramirez had five kills and 14 digs, Chelsea Woolridge 18 assists, and Sarah Phillips 10 digs.
Against T-C Prep, Madison Mings had five kills and a block, Courtney Mings four kills and five digs, Wooldridge 13 assists, Bryeana Myrick six blocks, and Taylor Frame and Sarah Phillips six digs each. Phillips went 9-for-9 at the service line and had seven digs.
