Annual hospice tree lighting ceremony set for Dec. 8

WALLA WALLA — For 26 years, Walla Walla Community Hospice has lit up a tree to honor and remember people who have died.

The nonprofit organization will do so again at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Die Brücke building lobby at First Avenue and Main Street.

In coordination with the ceremony, individuals may dedicate a light with a paper ornament on the tree in someone’s name for $10. For a $25, a glass tree ornament is also available. The 2013 design is a snowman etched into beveled glass.

The ceremony will include reading of the names in the Tree of Life book, music, candle lighting and refreshments.

Lights and ornaments may be purchased at the Hospice office, 1067 Isaacs Ave., online at or by calling 525-5561.

No patient is denied hospice services for financial reasons. All funds raised are used toward providing quality hospice care in Walla Walla, Columbia and Northeast Umatilla counties.
