Christine L. Cox of Milton-Freewater passed away Nov. 16, 2013, at her home at the age of 62 years. Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Ingle Chapel Congregational Church, 85372 Hwy. 339, Milton-Freewater. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics through Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.
Christine was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Walla Walla, the daughter of David E. and Arlene (Andy) Cox. She attended local schools including Green Park, Pioneer Junior High and Walla Walla High School. She had many fond memories of her childhood on the family wheat farm in the Spring Valley area. After attending Eastern Washington University for a time and graduating from a local beauty school, she moved to the Seattle area to start a long career as a beautician. While in Burien, Wash., she met and married Don Anderson. Her daughter, Renee, was born in 1978. The couple were later divorced. Later, Christine and Renee returned to Walla Walla, where she owned a small beauty shop. She later worked with the disabled at Valley Residential Services. She married Jim Morrison on May 8, 2005, and moved to Milton-Freewater. She was a member of the Ingle Chapel Congregational Church.
Christine is survived by her husband, Jim Morrison at the home; a daughter, Renee (James) Oblisk of Walla Walla; step-son, Ron Morrison at the home; step-daughter, Karen Hanner of Milton-Freewater; a sister, Suzanne (Lee) Zimmerman; and a brother, Jim (Annie) Cox all of Walla Walla; three step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
