Former Walla Wallans Frank and Kathleen Mawhin of Ocean Park, Wash., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 20, 2013.

They first met at Berney School in the 1940s, became reacquainted in the 1950s and married on Nov. 20, 1953, in Pasco. Kathleen’s maiden name is McDonald.

Frank served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea until 1953, then worked for the Walla Walla Police Department and Walla Walla County Assessor’s Office. He retired in the 1980s. He enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling and bowling. He was president of Full Gospel Business Men for several years.

Kathleen worked for Sigman’s, Wade’s Thriftway and Whitman College before retiring in the 1980s. She enjoys bowling, fishing, traveling and reading.

They have two daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne and Bruce Smith of Sun City, Fla. and Gay Lynn Mawhin of Ocean Park; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
