Olive Marketplace & Café is opening up its kitchen for a new cooking series.
The classes start Wednesday and run the next two Wednesdays after that, starting at 5 p.m. each week.
Each $35 class ($90 for all three) will be led by a different Olive chef and includes a sparkling wine reception, step-by-step instructions and technique demonstrations, recipe and note cards, and tastings and takeaways.
Next Wednesday’s class will be led by Jose Meza, who will prepare with participants curried coconut butternut squash soup, cranberry kumquat chutney, and butternut squash and apple gratan.
Olive owner and chef Jake Crenshaw will lead the Dec. 11 class, preparing a roasted rack of Upper Dry Creek lamb dijon-crusted with hazelnut persillade, and brined and roasted local pheasant with bacon, rosemary and date stuffing.
Pastry chef Sarah German will finish out the series Dec. 18, making assorted truffles, pumpkin seed brittle and English toffee.
