New Head Start/WIC Center to hold open house

MILTON-FREEWATER — An open house and ribbon-cutting for the new Milton-Freewater Head Start and WIC Center will be Thursday from noon-1:30 p.m. The new center is at 1850 Key Blvd. Light refreshments will be served.

The 5,000-square-foot building includes two classrooms, a WIC clinic and office space, and will serve 60 Head Start children and their families, along with about 700 WIC families.

The building was funded with a $1 million block grant from the Oregon Department of Economic and Community Development, and private foundation grants.
