T-O defeats Touchet

TOUCHET — The Tekoa-Oakesdale volleyball team downed Touchet in straight sets, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15, here Tuesday.

Touchet head coach April Miller said the Indians (1-4, 0-1) ran into a good opponent, but the team is moving in the right direction.

“Tekoa-Oakesdale is a very good team,” Miller said. “They had some outstanding plays and worked together real well. There’s no doubt that they’ll be a competitor at state again this year.”

Cierra Jo McKeown led the team with eight kills and was 10-of-10 serving with three aces. Harlie Schaeffer finished with a team-high nine assists.

Touchet’s Morgan Cardwell, Kylie Maycumber and Jennifer Aceves combined for 100 percent serving in the match.

Touchet hosts Lacrosse-Washtucna Thursday.
