RICHLAND — Walla Walla High School’s volleyball squad dropped a four-set match to Mid-Columbia Conference foe Richland here Tuesday, 26-24, 25-13, 22-25, 25-17.
“The girls worked very well as a team and fought hard to win,” Blue Devils assistant coach Kim McDaniels said. “We definitely saw more heart on the court than any other match.”
Madi Doepker recorded 12 kills and 11 digs while serving five aces for the Blue Devils.
Reece Carman had 12 kills, Jamie Quaresma dished out 17 assists, Katie Greene had 12 assists, and Kassidy Willard came up with 12 digs.
“We got beat by the short tips, and where Richland saw our holes on the court,” McDaniels said. “Our goal is to keep the intensity at a high level the entire match. This way, we can finish our matches with the wins we deserve.”
Wa-Hi, now 2-4 in MCC play, hosts Southridge at 7 p.m. tonight.
