CRIMINAL CASES

Nicholas A. Torrescano, 28, 151 Boyer Drive, was charged Sept. 30 with violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Torrescano is accused of possessing MDMA, a controlled substance, on May 12.

Sidney B. Stephens, 34, no permanent address listed, was charged Sept. 30 with harassment and second-degree criminal trespass. Stephens is accused of knowingly and unlawfully threatening to kill a Walla Walla police officer, and unlawfully entering or remaining in Super 1 Foods, 710 S. Ninth Ave., on Sept. 27.

Carolyn J. Goertzen, 30, 1522 Freedom Place, College Place, was charged Oct. 1 with two counts of violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and one count of violation of the Uniform Legend Drug Act. Goertzen is accused of possessing methamphetamine, using drug paraphernalia, and unlawfully possessing cyclobenzaprine on Sept. 30.

Samuel L. Potter, 38, address not confirmed, was charged Oct. 3 with assault in violation of a protection/no-contact order — domestic violence, and with resisting arrest. Potter is accused of violating a protection/no-contact order by assaulting a person, and intentionally preventing or attempting to prevent a peace officer from lawfully arresting him on Oct. 2.
