ENTERPRISE — The Weston-McEwen volleyball team remained undefeated in the Class 2A Blue Mountain Conference with a three-set victory against Enterprise on the road Thursday.
The TigerScots (21-1 overall, 11-0 in BMC play) downed Enterprise, 25-22, 25-6, 25-15, behind the strength of its servers.
Weston-McEwen finished the matches with 16 aces, head coach Shawn White said.
“Our servers this year have really been doing a great job and we controlled the game,” he said. “We’re able to control the game with (serves) and then our hitters keep pounding away, and after a while that wears teams down.”
Danni Dearing went 17-of-17 serving with four aces.
Melina Baker finished 16-of-16 serving and Natalie Arnold went 17-of-18 at the service line. Baker and Arnold combined for six aces.
The TigerScots also got 11 kills from Molly vonBorstel and four kills from Lacey Kuehn.
Keegan Shepard added three kills and seven blocks.
“The strength we have is that while we do have the outstanding hitter in Molly (vonBorstel), we have five hitters that contribute every night,” White said of the TigerScots. “Anytime someone tries to overcommit on (vonBorstel), the other hitters are going to make them pay.”
Weston-McEwen plays Heppner and Pilot Rock on the road at noon Saturday.
