Indians fall in five sets to Rosalia


ROSALIA — It came down to a decisive fifth set, but the Touchet volleyball team was unable to get past Southeast 1B League foe Rosalia on Tuesday.

Touchet (2-7, 1-4) opened the match with a 25-22 win in the first set, before dropping the second set 29-27. The Indians rallied to win the third set 25-19, but the Spartans came up clutch, winning the fourth set 25-23.

Rosalia sealed the match with a 15-6 win in the final set.

CierraJo McKeown racked up 18 kills and six blocks for the Indians. Harlie Schaeffer dished out a team-high 20 assists and Kylie Maycumber went 18-of-18 from the service line.

Morgan Cardwell and Jennifer Aceves each finished with eight digs for Touchet.

The Indians travel to face Colton Thursday.
