Steampunk flavors converging for history fests


WALLA WALLA — The Festival of Converging Histories, a fusion of things Victorian and steampunk sponsored by Kirkman House Museum, will have several events Nov. 8-9.

Professor Beebe’s Emphatically Spectacular Variety Show will be 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Gesa Power House Theatre, 111 N. Sixth Ave. The NerdProv comedy, Master Payne’s Steampunk Sorcery, belly dancing by Troupe Azure and a steam punk fashion show are in the lineup. Tickets are $20.

With a nod to Victorian pastimes, the Psychic Fair will be both days at Kirkman House Museum, 214 N. Colville St. There will be three sessions for 20 participants.

Starting at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 Shirley Scott will be in contact with pets that have passed over.

Psychic Janice Lynch will help contact loved ones on Nov. 9.

The Grand Victorian Ball will be 6-10 p.m. Nov. 9 at Sharpstein Elementary School, 410 Howard St. The Country Dance Orchestra with Dance Master Dan Clark will provide the music. Formal wear is required and Victorian or formal Steampunk attire encouraged.

Dance cards will be provided upon entry. Tickets are $15-$25.
