Meryl Inez Kincaid Purdey, 57, of 420 W. Alder, Apt. 27, Walla Walla, died at her home on Aug. 26, 2013.

Meryl Kincaid Purdey was born on July 23, 1956, in Clarkston to Elmo and Rhoda Youngberg Kincaid of Ferdinand, Idaho. Following early years in Ferdinand, her childhood was spent in Clarkston. Her schooling included a year at Upper Columbia Academy at Spangle, Wash., and a brief time at Walla Walla College. She then married Vernon Purdy of Lodi, Calif., in 1980. She and her husband lived near San Francisco, and after the marriage ended in divorce, she lived in Walla Walla and in Spokane. Meryl will be missed for her humorous jokes and anecdotes and her generous gift giving.

Meryl was survived by a brother, Jim Kincaid of Kotzebue, Alaska; sisters, Cherie Kincaid Rouse of Loma Linda, Calif., and Grace Kincaid Bryant of Walla Walla; six nieces and nephews and their six children.
