WALLA WALLA — The women’s soccer match between Walla Walla Community College and Yakima Valley Saturday was about as lopsided as soccer matches can be.

Delaney Romero’s goal in the first minute opened a torrential downpour of scores as the Warriors (12-1-1) destroyed the last-place Yaks, 12-1, at the Community College fields.

Tash Anderson scored a hat trick to lead three Warriors with multiple goals, as Romero tacked on another score and Kylie Gorton scored a pair of goals as well.

In total, seven Warriors found the back of the net, as Brigit Lyons, Alli Madril, Oryian Matheny and Olivia Rodgers joined the scoring party.

The Warriors, who retain a one-point lead over Spokane in the East Region standings, will play a decisive match against the Sasquatch Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Walla Walla.
