WALLA WALLA — A Superior Court jury late Wednesday afternoon acquitted a local man of shooting an acquaintance in an Eastgate alley in April.

Timothy T. Parlor, 19, was found not guilty of first-degree assault while armed with a firearm.

The seven-man, five-woman panel deliberated about 50 minutes starting at 4:05 p.m. before reaching its unanimous verdict following testimony in the two-day trial.

Officials claimed Parlor shot Blake D. Nelson in the alley behind the 1700 block of Portland Avenue early on the morning of April 13.

The defense maintained Shawn A. Crump, who also was at the scene, is the shooter.
