WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla Community College’s men’s and women’s soccer teams hosted Spokane in their final home regular-season matches Wednesday, with the Warrior women taking a 5-0 shutout victory and the men playing the Sasquatch to a scoreless tie.

In the women’s match, WWCC goalie Aiko Johnson recorded the shutout with six saves. Warrior goals were scored by Alli Madril (14th minute), Olivia Rodgers (60th and 63rd minutes) and Tash Anderson (81st minute).

Madril also picked up assists on Rodgers’ goals, and Lexi Miller on Madril’s goal.

In the men’s game, WWCC goalie Derek Carver had four saves in the match.

The Warrior women are now 13-1-1 and atop the NWAACC East, and 17-1-1 overall, and close out league play at noon Saturday at Wenatchee Valley.

The WWCC men are now 9-0-3 in league, and also in first in the East, and 12-1-3 overall headed into their 2:30 p.m. matchup with the Knights on Saturday.

The NWAACC Championship playoffs begin Wednesday, with the finals Nov. 16-17 in Tukwila, Wash.
