Motorcyclist injured in spill on Main Street

WALLA WALLA — A 22-year-old man who crashed his motorcycle on Main Street was in satisfactory condition this morning, according Providence St. Mary Medical Center staff.

Jia Zhen of Milton-Freewater suffered an apparent head injury after flipping his motorcycle just before 9 a.m. Sunday, according to Tim Bennett, Walla Walla Police Department spokesman.

Bennett said an officer saw the crash, a portion of which was captured on the police cruiser dash camera.

Zhen was turning left onto Main Street from Isaacs Avenue when the back wheel began sliding. Zhen then apparently over-corrected and was thrown from the bike, landing head first on the pavement.

“(The bike) came down hard,” Bennett said.

Zhen, who was wearing a helmet, was unconscious when he was transported to Providence St. Mary, police reported.
