Waitsburg-Prescott to pick up five-set win

PILOT ROCK — Waitsburg-Prescott opened its 2013 volleyball campaign by dropping the first two sets 25-20 and 25-14 to Pilot Rock here Friday in non-league volleyball action. W-P roared back to win the next three sets and take the victory 3-2.

“We got off to a slow start due to being out of position on defense,” W-P coach Angie Potts said. “The girls settled down and during the match there were flashes of how good this team can be once we develop the ball control needed to run an effective offense.”

W-P bounced back to take 25-21 and 25-22 wins over the Rockets in the middle sets and force a deciding fifth set.

W-P was up to the task and claimed the match win with a 15-6 win in the decider.
