A bicyclist is in satisfactory condition after a collision with a vehicle while crossing Highway 12 at Clinton Street on Thursday. At around 2:40 p.m., Turner R. Ratrie, 46, of Savannah, Ga., collided with a 2001 BMW driven by Luis Salazar, 41, of Walla Walla. Salazar was entering the highway at the time. Ratrie was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
A short vehicle pursuit ended with a crash into a power pole at the intersection of Moore Street and Second Avenue today. Police said at around 2 a.m. they started pulling over a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Tuff Z. Goble, 21, of Walla Walla, when Goble sped off, immediately lost control of the SUV and struck the power pole. Police took Goble into custody.
A resident of the 00 block of South Roosevelt Street reported the theft of a purple Mongoose BMX bike Thursday evening.
