WASHTUCNA — It came down to a pivotal fifth set, but Touchet was unable to put away Lacrosse-Washtucna here Thursday.
The match went back-and-forth, with the Indians (1-2, 0-1) taking the opening set, 25-14, before dropping the second set, 25-22. Touchet rallied back for a 25-16 win in the third set, but Lacrosse-Washtucna took the final two sets, 25-20 and 15-11, to win the match.
Touchet head coach April Miller said her team had its moments, but could not capitalize at the end.
“We had great moments where we were making things happen,” Miller said. “Everyday, we see improvements and advances and every day we see where we can move to make improvements.”
Morgan Caldwell remained strong from the stripe, going 14-of-14 serving with six aces.
Cierra Jo McKeown smacked a team-high 20 kills, Harlie Schaeffer added 20 assists and Jennifer Aceves finished with 15 digs.
Touchet is back in action at the Tri-Cities Prep Invitational on Saturday.
