TigerScots blank Enterprise, 12-0

ENTERPRISE, Ore. —— After a difficult nonconference slate, the Weston-McEwen TigerScots football team stormed into Enterprise and won a defensive struggle, 12-0, here Friday evening.

“The defense flew around and made some great plays,” W-M coach Kenzie Hansell said. “We had great field position for the offense. I’m proud of the kids to play so well after a tough preseason. We really came out to play and got a road win against a good Enterprise team.”

Weston-McEwen created four turnovers on offense, none bigger than the interception right before halftime by cornerback Cedric Hall.

The TigerScots scored to make it 6-0 with 3:21 on the clock on Erick Washburn’s 45-yard toss to Lance Thacker.

After the kickoff and on the ensuing drive by the Outlaws, Hall came up with an interception at the Outlaw 17-yard line to give the ball back to his offense.

Washburn capped the red-zone drive with a three-yard touchdown run.

The TigerScots finished with 76 rushing yards, 29 by Washburn.

Washburn also threw for 101 yards on a 7-for-13 performance through the air.

Linton McAllister hauled in six catches for 57 yards as Washburn’s favorite target.

W-M running backs Ethan Reger and Reeve Betts each contributed 22 yards on the ground.

“I can’t stress how hard the kids played and had fun with their buddies,” Hansell said. “It was a good road crowd from the TigerScot community.”

After almost a month on the road, the TigerScots host Grant Union Friday at 7 p.m.

“We are undefeated in league and play a tough Grant Union team next,” Hansell. “We look forward to having them at home.”
