COLLEGE PLACE — Walla Walla Valley Academy saw its work on the passing game pay off with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-19 Southeast 2B League victory over DeSales here Tuesday.
“We started out a little slow, it wasn’t as smooth as I’d like it to be,” Knights coach Scott Schafer said. “We passed really well. We’ve been focusing on improving that part of our game, so it was great for the girls to see that. We’ll try to keep that going forward.”
Hope Heaton had three blocks and Rylee Sutton dished out nine assists for WWVA.
Maleesa Reiswig was10-of-12 serving with three aces, Joceyln Magdelano picked up eight digs and Amy Amy had 10 kills.
DeSales head coach Hailee Rogers was pleased with her team’s effort against the Knights.
“What it really came down to was passing and completing plays tonight,” Rogers said. “Unfortunately we didn’t do that as well as we needed to.”
The Knights, now 2-0 in SE2B play and 4-1 overall, host Upper Columbia Academy at 6 p.m. today.
DeSales hosts Tri-Cities Prep at 6 p.m. Thursday.
