Area churches offer free lunches weekdays, Saturday

WALLA WALLA — Free lunches are available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at various churches: Monday at Pioneer United Methodist, 209 E. Birch St., 509-525-1870; Tuesday and Thursday at St. Paul’s Episcopal, 323 Catherine St., 509-529-1083; Wednesday at First Congregational, 73 S. Palouse St., 509-525-8753; Friday at New Beginnings Chapel, 822 W. Main St., 509-527-3385.

On Saturday, lunch is 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at Good Neighbor Church, 343 S. Third Ave.

St. Paul’s Episcopal slates First Thursday Concert

WALLA WALLA — The First Thursday Concert at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine St., will be 12:15-12:50 p.m. Thursday.

Artists will be Ethan Maier, pianist, and Josh Melander, violinist, from Whitman College.

They will play a mixture of jazz, classical and original compositions.

Donations will go to Blue Mountain Heart to Heart, the charity of the performers’ choice.

Unity Church of Peace to move to Center at the Park

WALLA WALLA — Unity Church of Peace announces a move to a new space at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave. Services begin there Sunday, Oct. 6.

Christian worship band Esterlyn to perform in Dayton

DAYTON — The Christian worship band Esterlyn will return at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 for an encore performance at Harvest Christian Center, 653 Wagon Road, Dayton.

The free concert is sponsored by the Touchet Valley Ministerial Association. An offering will be taken.

Christian Women’s Connection luncheon slated

POMEROY — This month’s Christian Woman’s Connection luncheon will take place at the Pataha Flour Mill, 50 Hutchens Hill Road in Pomeroy at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16.

Betty Barnett of Renton, Wash. will speak. Barbara Chandler of Lewiston will show her teddy bears and Juyne Bowles of Pomeroy will provide music.
