WALLA WALLA — Plans to wash the car or mow the lawn may have to take a rain check this weekend.
Soggy weather is in forecast for the next couple of days, starting with increasing clouds and possible showers tonight.
According to the National Weather Service, a large upper-level low pressure system off the British Columbia coast combined with a strong jet stream and abundant moisture will bring a fair amount of rain to the area.
The chance of rain is 50 percent Saturday, increasing to 60 percent Sunday. The Cascades in particular will receive heavy rain, but no snow except on the highest mountain peaks.
Strong winds aloft will also produce breezy to windy conditions Saturday and Sunday, according to forecasters.
