ELGIN — Weston-McEwen remains undefeated in Blue Mountain Conference volleyball play after a 25-9, 25-15, 25-12 victory over Elgin here Thursday.
The TigerScots are now 6-0 in BMC play, 16-1 overall.
“We played well,” W-M Shawn White said. “Offensively, we’ve been pushing to improve. We hit the ball well across the board. Elgin played inspired defense, but wasn’t able to get their offense going. It was won of those nights where if you don’t make mistakes, you’re going to wear them down, and that’s what we did.”
Taryn Coffman had 28 assists and three kills for the TigerScots, and Taylor Rudolph was 8-for-8 serving.
Molly von Borstel recorded two aces and 11 kills, Lacey Kuehn picked up four digs and seven kills, Keegan Shepard had five digs and seven kills, Melanie Sederburg downed eight kills and Betsy West had three.
Danni Dearning was 19-of-20 serving with five aces, Madison Carlin had three digs, Natalie Arnold was 17-of-17 serving with five aces and seven digs, and Melina Baker was 12-of-12 serving with three aces.
The TigerScots head to Stanfield to face off with BMC foes Union at 1 p.m., followed by Stanfield, on Saturday.
“The girls worked hard in the offseason,” White said. “Every week we’re improving, and that’s all you can ask for as a coach.”
