Volunteers sought for bike, pedestrian count

The Washington State Department of Transportation is preparing to count the number of people bicycling and walking on paths, bike lanes, sidewalks and other facilities and needs volunteers .

According to a release from WSDOT, Walla Walla is one of 13 cities where volunteer participation is low.

The sixth annual count will be conducted Oct. 1-3. Data will help gauge demand, measure benefits of investments and design projects for nonmotorized travel.
